DASH

DASH, a Shipston based organisation, was founded in 2002 to reduce drugs usage and drug related crime and to also raise awareness of drugs issues in the community. The work of DASH has already led to much activity in the community towards helping reduce drug usage. Since the youth project began in 2003, the youth workers have worked with over 3000 teenagers providing advice on drugs, sexual health and career options. We run a service assisting individuals who suffer from alcoholism and drug addiction. Our 24/7 helpline allows people to phone and chat with our team of addiction counsellors regarding their sobriety or a loved one in need of help.

We currently help with the following advice:

  • Library of addiction advice and information for specific members of the community such as students, veterans and more
  • Where to find local Alcoholics Anonymous (AA & NA) meetings
  • Locate local addiction one-to-one counsellors
  • Advice on maintaining sobriety
  • Set up of sober companions 'Buddy System' to support through the first part of early recovery
  • Information on free and private rehabilitation advice
  • Large database of information on drug types, symptoms and how to detox safely from them

Opening Hours:Monday to Friday: 9.30 am to 3.15 pm Saturday and Sunday: 8.30 am to 12.15 pm: Recycle items or disperse of waste. They recycle: Plastic bottles, batteries, shoes, TV's and monitors, fridges and freezers, scrap metal (inc foil and cans), electrical, used engine oil, cardboard, garden waste, paper, clothes, printer cartridges, cartons, mobile phones, wood and timber, glass, fluorescent tubes, telephone directories. They also accept pre-sorted household waste. Hardcore, rubble and soil is classified as construction waste and will be accepted in small amounts, please contact Waste Management for further information. Shipston Link Community Transport

"Shipston Link" provides regular, volunteer run, community bus services from many of the surrounding villages into Shipston Town Centre, and the Medical Centre, from Tuesday to Friday each week. Our Tuesday afternoon Shipston Town Service is presently very under utilised and if it is to continue long term we have to attract more passengers. There is an in to Town and out loop around Hanson Avenue / Furze Hill Road, and Medical Centre / Driftway / Berry Avenue. Passengers can spend an hour shopping in the Town Centre. Shipston on Stour Baby and Toddler Group

Shipston on Stour baby and toddler group operate from the new scout hut in Shipston. We are open term time only on a Monday 9.45 to 11.15 for play, arts and crafts, snacks and singing. We are a registered charity too. We are a very friendly group and are always welcoming new people with their little ones. We hold a party every summer and Christmas too! It is £1.50 for an adult and baby under 6 months and 50p for each child over 6 months. The first visit is free! Thank you!
